These Views Are My Own
The views, opinions, and research on this website and in Global Health Research in Practice belong to me alone. They do not represent the official views of Duke University or any other university, college, or employer I work with.
Financial Interests
I'm a co-founder of Nivi, a digital health company, and I retain an equity stake in it. I also occasionally do paid consulting work.
How the Book and Resources Are Made
I created Global Health Research in Practice with the help of a custom, multi-step workflow that I designed and built. It supported specific research tasks: generating and revising outlines, searching the literature and building annotated bibliographies, validating citations, and iterative drafting and editing. Each component had a defined role, and none operated autonomously. I use the same approach for the learning resources on this site, including the videos, companion notes, and examples, often with several AI models working in a pipeline.
At every stage, I review, edit, reject, or rewrite what these tools produce. They assist with process, not judgment, and every claim, interpretation, and conclusion in the book and on this site is my responsibility.
The full account is in the book's appendix, How This Book Was Written.
